On write late at eight years

Krithya is just eight. But the third standard student has become an author. Her first book The Untold Story of the Rabbit and Tortoise will be released today (14th March) by singer Chinmayi at the Community Hall of the Raj Paris Apartments in Virugambakkam, where Krithya lives.

Says her father, Kiruba Shankar, a well known blogger and a social media consultant, “I feel it’s a defining moment in the young girl’s life, who is keen at writing right from her childhood.”

“We received the books from the printer just a couple of days back and Krithya was obviously jubilant with her first copy”, he says.

Ask him to elaborate more, he says, “Kritha has a habit of reading lot of stories. This sowed in her the seed to write. She wanted to publish her work so that it would reach many other students. With the help of her illustrator friend Rajesh, she has brought out the book in a nice way.”

saying plans are on to release the book in five other languages, Kiruba adds, “the book will soon be published in five Indian languages – Tamil, Telegu, Malayalam, Hindi and Kannda. We have plans to sell the book online. An official announcement will be made on my blog soon.”

“We have plans to take the book to rural students”, says the proud father and adds: “the book will be distributed free of cost to libraries at village schools. The entire idea is not to make money, but to encourage my daughter and other children with a flair for wiriting”

And Kiruba Shankar has a request too. “It would be a great source of encouragement if you can call and speak to my little girl and give her your wishes. It would be a good surprise for her” The landline number is 42733619 and my mobile number is 9841597744.
