Making of the book

One of the most productive uses I have made of YouTube has been by watching the commencement speeches at leading American Universities like Harvard, Stanford, and MIT. Each of those speeches has very important lessons for us to learn. What impressed me was that these ultra-successful people always talk from their heart drawing from their years of experiences. These are real life lessons from their successes and failures. All encapsulated beautifully in under 20 minutes.

However, to my dismay and surprise, the college students that I interact with seem to be blissfully aware of these commencement speeches. The only talk that people seem to recollect is Steve Jobs’ ‘Stay Hungry Stay Foolish’ speech at Stanford University. There are much more. I would mail a few links to students but I felt I can do a much better way.

That’s when I stuck this idea of taking one important lesson from each speech and compile together 50 awesome advises from 50 commencement speakers.

It was one of the most enjoyable exercises that I undertook and most certainly the best book project I have worked on. I have personally learned a lot just by working on the book and I really hope its equally helpful for you reading this book.

Good luck. Now, go take the world head on!!
