I’m deeply fascinated by old houses.

Something about them that really captures my attention. It hurts me when I see these beautiful houses torn down to build those stale multi-storeyed apartments. I caught this old house in a bylane in Royapettah. Just a few meters away from this house used to be the famous Gupta’s Ajanta hotel. It was a majestic looking building, almost a century old. I remember staying there a couple of times. Sadly, I realise this hotel is no more. What stands in its place is this modern building.

Well, I can’t stop the demolitions. The least I can do is capture snaps of these old buildings for posterity.
